Robert Quartermain
Co-Chair and Director
Dr. Quartermain currently serves as Co‑Chair and Director of Dakota Gold. In addition to his role as Co-Chair and Director, he also served as CEO from October 2024 to August 2026. Prior to founding Dakota Gold, Dr. Quartermain was the Executive Chairman of Pretium Resources Inc., which he founded in October 2010. Prior to Pretium, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Silver Standard Resources Inc. (now SSR Mining Inc.) for 25 years from 1985 to 2010.
He currently also serves as Lead Director of Hemlo Mining Company (TSX: HMMC).
Dr. Quartermain holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Brunswick, a Master of Science from Queens University, his Professional Geoscience certification from the Engineers and Geoscientists BC (retired in 2026), and an Honorary Doctor of Science from the University of New Brunswick. In addition to his focus on Dakota Gold, Dr. Quartermain has a number of education, wildlife and social justice philanthropic interests that he supports.
Dr. Quartermain was inducted into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame (CMHF) in August 2022 and appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada in June 2026 for his significant contributions to the mining and exploration industry in Canada and internationally over his career. Stephen O’Rourke
Co-Chair and Director
Dr. O’Rourke serves as Co‑Chair and Director of Dakota Gold and has served as a director of the Company since March 2022. He served as Managing Director for Dakota Gold from July 2024 to July 2025. He previously served as President of Global Petroleum Exploration for BHP Billiton (“BHPB”) (NYSE: BHP) from May 2007 to May 2011 and was a member of its senior management team. Other key roles at BHPB included Vice President of Development Planning and Vice President of Appraisal and Petroleum Engineering from June 2003 to May 2007.
From July 1983 to March 2000, Dr. O’Rourke held various senior technical and management roles for Shell Oil Co. He was a founding partner of Strategic Management Partners LLC from December 2024 to July 2026, a consulting firm based in Rapid City, South Dakota, specializing in energy, minerals, and business development.
He is currently the Non‑Executive Lead Director of RESPEC, an engineering consulting firm also based in Rapid City. He served as a director for Dakota Oil and Gas Co., a privately held South Dakota‑focused oil and gas exploration company, from June 2020 to July 2025.
Dr. O’Rourke is also a co‑founder and past Chair of the South Dakota Mines Geological Engineering advisory board. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering and an Honorary Doctorate of Public Service from South Dakota Mines and is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business Advanced Management Program.
Jennifer S. Grafton
Director
Ms. Grafton has served as a Director of Dakota Gold since March 2022 and currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel and Secretary of Rare Earths Americas, Inc., a role she has held since February 2025.
Previously, Ms. Grafton served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel (March 2023–May 2024) and Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel (January 2021–February 2023) of E2open Parent Holdings Inc. (NYSE: ETWO), a cloud‑based, end‑to‑end supply chain management software company. From December 2008 to July 2019, Ms. Grafton worked at Westmoreland Coal Company (NASDAQ: WLB), most recently serving as Chief Legal Officer, Chief Administrative Officer and Secretary.
Prior to Westmoreland, Ms. Grafton worked in the corporate group of various Denver‑based and national law firms, focusing her practice on securities and corporate governance. Ms. Grafton holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver, and a Bachelor of Arts in politics and government from the University of Puget Sound.
Jack Henris
Chief Executive Officer, President and Director
Mr. Henris was appointed Chief Executive Officer, President and a Director of Dakota Gold in August 2026 after previously serving as President and Chief Operating Officer since June 2025. He has more than 35 years of experience in the mining industry and is a graduate of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geological Engineering. Prior to joining Dakota Gold, Mr. Henris was Chief Operating Officer for Hycroft Mining in Winnemucca, Nevada from January 2021 to March 2022.
In addition, his mining experience includes General Manager, Mine Manager and Chief Mine Engineer roles with Newmont Mining in Northeastern Nevada and Colorado for 12 years (August 2005 – September 2017), Senior Mining Consultant with Stantec in Chandler, Arizona (December 2019 – January 2021), and Vice President of Mining and Geotechnical for Goldcorp in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (December 2017 – April 2019). Prior to that, Mr. Henris worked for Barrick in Northeastern Nevada at the Goldstrike Mine for nine years (September 1995 – March 2004), advancing through senior operational and technical roles.
During his time at both Newmont and Barrick, Mr. Henris gained design and operational experience with open pit oxide heap leach developments. He also worked for Homestake Mining Company for eight years (August 1987 – September 1995), including five years at the Open Cut in Lead, South Dakota, and additional exploration and technical roles in Nevada and South Dakota.
Brian G. Iverson
Director
Mr. Iverson has served as a Director of Dakota Gold since March 2026. He is a senior legal and financial executive with more than 30 years of experience in the utility, energy and financial services sectors. He currently serves as the General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Regulatory and Public Policy for TXNM Energy (NYSE: TXNM), where he oversees legal affairs, regulatory strategy, governmental and tribal relations, supply chain and internal audit, a role he has held since September 2024. He also serves as an External Director of RESPEC and is a member of its Audit and Compensation Committees.
Previously, he served as Senior Vice President & General Counsel (2016–2024) for Black Hills Corporation (NYSE: BKH), an electric and gas utility company headquartered in Rapid City, South Dakota. Prior to this role, Mr. Iverson held positions of increasing responsibility at Black Hills Corporation, including Senior Vice President, Regulatory and Government Affairs & Assistant General Counsel (2014–2016), Vice President and Treasurer (2011–2015), Vice President, Electric Regulatory Services (2008–2011), and Senior Counsel (2004–2008).
Mr. Iverson holds a Juris Doctorate (Sterling Honor Graduate), Master of Business Administration, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting), all from the University of South Dakota. He is a NACD Board Leadership Fellow, Certified Public Accountant, and Chartered Global Management Accountant.
Todd Kenner
Director
Mr. Kenner has served as a director of Dakota Gold since May 2025 and has more than 40 years of experience in engineering design and business management. Mr. Kenner currently serves as Interim CEO of Elevate Rapid City, the area’s economic development organization. He previously served as President and CEO of RESPEC Company, LLC (“RESPEC”) from May 2009 to December 2024. RESPEC is headquartered in Rapid City, South Dakota, and during his 15 years with the company, he led strategic expansion leveraging the company’s nationally recognized technical expertise in rock mechanics. During his tenure, RESPEC grew from annual revenues of $14M to $142M and expanded its geographic presence from two to 28 offices, including two international locations, with a total of 650 professionals.
Mr. Kenner’s public service experience has included board leadership with the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, and the South Dakota Mines Center for Alumni Relations and Advancement (CARA). He currently serves on the Elevate Rapid City Board of Directors and Executive Committee and on the Board of Directors for the Community Health Center of the Black Hills.
Mr. Kenner holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and an Honorary Doctorate – Doctor of Public Services, both from South Dakota Mines. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School for Senior Executives program.
Kevin Puil
Director
Mr. Puil is the Managing Partner of RIVI Capital LLC, a private equity firm specializing in precious metals, a role he has held since 2014. With over 25 years of experience in the resource investment sector, he brings a wealth of expertise as a former fund manager and investment analyst. Throughout his career, Mr. Puil has held senior roles at several notable firms. At Bolder Investment Partners (now Haywood Securities), he was a Partner and Portfolio Manager, and later, he held the position of Senior Analyst of natural resources at the Encompass Fund. In addition to his investment acumen, Mr. Puil has served as an independent director for multiple international mining companies. He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Victoria in British Columbia and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter Holder.
Alice Schroeder
Director
Ms. Schroeder has served as a Director of Dakota Gold since August 2022 and serves on, or has served on, numerous public and private company boards. She currently serves on two additional U.S. public company boards: Stellantis N.V. (April 2025–present) (NYSE: STLA) and HSBC North America Holdings Inc. (October 2021–present) (NYSE: HSBC). Over her board career, she has served on or chaired audit, compensation, nominating/governance, and sustainability committees.
She began her career as a CPA at Ernst & Young and spent nearly two decades on Wall Street as an analyst and banker, and as a managing director at several firms, principally Morgan Stanley. Ms. Schroeder holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. In addition, she is active in a variety of philanthropic causes related to historic preservation, education, and service to veterans.
Mr. Campbell was appointed to Chief Development Officer in August 2026 after serving as Chief Financial Officer of Dakota Gold since March 2022 and serving as the Chief Financial Officer for Dakota Gold’s predecessor from June 2021 to March 2022. Mr. Campbell brings more than 20 years of progressively senior experience in project and operations financial management obtained via professional practice, capital markets, and industry experience.
Mr. Campbell previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of GT Gold Corp. (November 2019 – May 2021) and before that worked in various roles with Goldcorp Inc., including the Head of Investor Relations (April 2018 – October 2019) and the Head of Finance for Canada and the U.S. (July 2013 – March 2016).
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Distinction) from the University of Victoria and a Diploma in Accounting (DAP) from the University of British Columbia. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and a CFA Charter Holder.
Amy K. Koenig
SVP, Chief Legal & Administrative Officer
Ms. Koenig currently serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Legal & Administrative Officer for Dakota Gold and previously held the position of Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary from June 2025 to August 2026. Prior to joining Dakota Gold, Ms. Koenig was an Independent Director on the Company’s Board from March 2022 until May 2025. Ms. Koenig most recently served as Vice President – Governance, Corporate Secretary and Deputy General Counsel for Black Hills Corporation (NYSE: BKH), an electric and gas utility company headquartered in Rapid City, South Dakota, from August 2019 until May 2025. Prior to this role, she held legal and governance positions of increasing responsibility for Black Hills Corporation from June 2013 until August 2019.
Before joining Black Hills Corporation in 2013, Ms. Koenig spent ten years in private practice as a litigator with Gunderson, Palmer, Nelson & Ashmore, LLP. She holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of South Dakota School of Law. Before beginning her legal career, Ms. Koenig held various engineering roles of increasing responsibility in both the chemical and computer industries and holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology.
Ms. Koenig is a Certified Corporate Governance Professional. She serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Children’s Home Society of South Dakota, is a board member for the Black Hills Community Theater, and is a member of the American Association of University Women and the Black Hills Women in Mining Chapter.
Mike Eiselein
Vice President Project Development
Mr. Eiselein serves as the Vice President Project Development of Dakota Gold and has over 34 years' experience in process operations, engineering, design, and maintenance across a broad-spectrum of operations ranging from refractory and double refractory gold processing, oxide heap leach, base metals flotation, and industrial minerals. Prior to joining the Company in August 2025, Mr. Eiselein held senior operations positions with many established mining companies such as Barrick Gold Corporation, Newmont Mining Corporation, McEwen Mining Inc., Teck Cominco, and Bunker Hill Mining.
Mr. Eiselein started his career at Barrick’s Goldstrike Mine working with the mill and autoclave operations groups and progressed his way through senior process positions within the global Barrick portfolio of operations in both North and South America. At Newmont, Mr. Eiselein led the process operations, maintenance, and metallurgical departments for the Cripple Creek & Victor Mill and VLF leach areas. He was also Director of Full Potential Fixed Plant Maintenance and Reliability for Newmont’s Nevada operations. Most recently at the Bunker Hill restart project, Mr. Eiselein was the technical lead for the prefeasibility study process and metallurgy development work as well as the mill process plant engineering and design. Mr. Eiselein has a proven track record of improving operations through the development and integration of process enhancements, optimization programs, and cost control measures while placing emphasis on ensuring health and safety programs and environmental compliance practices are followed.
Mr. Eiselein holds a BSc in Metallurgical Engineering/Mineral Processing from Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology.
Mark Rantapaa
Vice President of Operations
Mr. Rantapaa joined Dakota Gold in 2021 and currently serves as Vice President of Operations. Mr. Rantapaa has broad technical and management experience gained through his 27-year career with Barrick Gold Corporation in Nevada where he served in various roles of increasing responsibility, including Open Pit Technical Services Superintendent and Operations Superintendent at the Goldstrike Mine and Mine Manager at the Cortez Mine. Mr. Rantapaa also held the Corporate position of Director of Safety and Health before moving to McEwen Mining where he served as Mine Manager and General Manager at the Gold Bar Mine. Mr. Rantapaa holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines.
Carling Gaze
Director of Investor Relations
Mrs. Gaze currently serves as Director of Investor Relations for Dakota Gold and previously held the position of Vice President of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications from May 2022 to August 2026. She is an experienced communications, investor relations and mining capital markets professional, with an evolving career spanning 20 years with exploration and intermediate mining companies. Prior to joining Dakota Gold, Mrs. Gaze served as the Senior Investor Relations and Communications Associate for Pretium Resources Inc, a high-grade gold company founded by Dr. Robert Quartermain in 2010 that attracted a $2.8 billion acquisition by Newcrest Mining in March 2022. Over her 8 years with Pretium, she gained valuable experience as the company grew their Brucejack Project in Canada from exploration to one of the highest-grade operating gold mines globally, and continued in investor relations and communications for Newcrest Mining following the acquisition. Mrs. Gaze holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
Meadow Riedel
Vice President of External Relations
Ms. Riedel joined Dakota Gold as Vice President of External Relations in July 2026, bringing more than 25 years of experience in strategic communications, external affairs, community relations, and stakeholder engagement. Prior to joining Dakota Gold, Ms. Riedel served as External Affairs Manager for Kinross Gold in Alaska, where she led external relations and social performance efforts supporting the Fort Knox and Manh Choh operations. Her work included government and community relations, stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, community investment and partnerships with Alaska Native communities and organizations.
Throughout her career, Ms. Riedel has held leadership roles in communications, public affairs and external relations across the mining, energy, transportation, and public sectors. Her experience includes working with government leaders, communities, Indigenous organizations, industry partners and nonprofit organizations on complex projects and issues involving natural resource development, infrastructure, and community interests.
Born and raised in Alaska, Ms. Riedel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Communications from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She has served on numerous community and nonprofit boards and has been actively involved in initiatives supporting education, economic development, community health, and responsible resource development.
Timm Comer
Environmental Director
Mr. Comer joined Dakota Gold as Environmental Director in May 2022. Timm has three decades of experience in environmental permitting, policy development, and compliance program implementation of mining properties with effective operation, reclamation, and closure focus. Previously, Timm held environmental management positions with Sanford Underground Research Facility, Neiman Enterprises, Cloud Peak Energy Resources, AngloGold Ashanti, Meridian Gold and Wharf Resources.
Mr. Comer holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Black Hills State University.
Bill Gehlen
Senior Manager - Geology
Mr. Bill Gehlen joined Dakota Gold in 2022 and currently serves as Senior Manager - Geology. Mr. Gehlen is an exploration geologist with over 40 years of experience in mineral exploration and project evaluation for base and precious metals mostly in the Americas. Prior to 1997, Bill conducted and managed greenfield’s exploration thru project development with the following mining companies: Union Carbide, Duval, Noranda, WESTGOLD, Cambior, Newmont and Gibraltar Mines. From 1997 to 2012, Bill was VP Exploration for Pacific Rim Mining Corp and managed their exploration programs throughout Latin America. From 2007 to 2011, Bill was President of Pacific Rim El Salvador. Bill also served as Manager of Resource Development OceanGold Corp. where he was responsible for managing strategic investments and exploration activities. After OceanGold, Bill joined Gold Standard Ventures as Manager of Corporate Development, and following that he served as a Director and as Manager of Geology at JR Resources.
Mr. Gehlen is also an independent technical Director for Guanajuato Silver Company Ltd, a public company that operates the El Cubo Mine and actively exploring surrounding districts in central Mexico. Mr. Gehlen has a B.S. degree in Geology from the University of Oregon (1977) and a M.S. degree in Geology from the University of Idaho (1984).
